Muttering 'Rise up and Close-in' will close-in the mind

If we mutter, 'rise-up and close-in', the mind will turn inward and close itself.
If we mutter, 'think near and close-up', the mind will rise upward and close itself.

The phrase 'rise up' makes the mind turn inward

If we mutter the phrase, 'rise up', the mind will turn inward.
If we mutter the phrase, 'think near', the mind will rise upward.

Mind rises when we try to turn it inward and vice versa

If we suggest the mind to lift its rays upward, we can watch it turning inward.
If we suggest the mind to turn inward, we can watch it rising upward.

We can reject thoughts as they enter us

We can reject thoughts as we watch them entering us from outside.
Thus, one can gradually attain to stillness and lasting peace.

We may reject everything including our body and accept our body and everything in the world

Sometimes, we may feel that a mixture of happiness and sorrow 'inheres' in this world.
Hence, we may begin rejecting the world. Then, we may end up rejecting our own body.
For, our own body is an occasion for our experiencing the mixture of happiness and sorrow.

Sometimes, we may feel that we need to experience the world.
Then, we may first accept our own body and then proceed to accept everything in the world.

We may think of a task, only when we have to do the task

We may do a task at the time of thinking of doing the task itself.
That way, we will impress our minds with the task only once.
For this, we may think of doing a task, only when we have to actually do it.

We impress our minds with a task both while thinking of doing and while actually doing

Normally, we first think of doing some task.
But then, we end-up doing that task only sometime later.
At the time of doing also, we think of that task.
Thus, we impress our mind with that task twice,
once at the time of thinking of doing
and once more at the time of actually doing.

We either plan or execute tasks

We sometime think of doing something.
These amount to our planning the tasks
We sometimes do some tasks.
These amount to our execution the tasks.

Divine Law has no exception

The Divine Law which has no exception is the only Law.
But, few can enter into It and work in It.

Look into the information to see what is 'in-formation'

When we peruse the 'information' attentively,
we can see the 'seeds' of what is 'in-formation' in the universe.

We cannot say how society will react to anything, be it good or bad

When we fall into the 'good' pattern,
the society may 'praise' us of course, out of admiration.
But, the society may also 'persecute' us, out of jealousy.

When we fall into the 'bad' pattern,
the society may 'condemn' us of course, out of contempt.
But, the society may also 'adore' us,
out of aversion to something we attacked.

If we fall into any pattern, the society can see and then adore or condemn us

When we pursue the good, then we are in one pattern.
When we pursue the bad, we are in another pattern.
When we fall into any pattern, the society can see us.
Then, the society will express its likes and dislikes.
Thus, we may be adored as well as condemned.

We must work only 'for' objects that we work 'on'

We work on 'objects'. We work for 'different objects'.
The 'different' objects that we 'work for',
may have 'to come by themselves' to us.
This may happen only at some 'distant future'.
So, we must work only for objects that we work on.

2 effects of our work on objects

1 When we work on an object,
the tendency to 'repeat' such a work,
gets impressed upon our subconscious.

2 As an effect of that work of ours,
some objects may force themselves,
on us 'at some future time',
in the form of our fate.

Fate is objects forcing themselves on us

Fate implies objects forcing themselves into our experience.
Work implies objects upon which we force ourselves.

An incantation language is for our spiritual progress alone

We may hold on to an incantation language,
for our spiritual progress alone.
For, the secrets of true spiritually,
lie coined in such a language.
We may apply those coined secrets
and advance spiritually.

We may persist in a task, resting in between

We truly 'persist' in doing a task,
only when we take intervals of rest during the task.
Then, each doing afresh is 'energised'.

We may dwell in the 40% to 60% middle range of justice

We may better take all our qualities into
the '40% to 60% middle range of justice'.
When people are in tune with us, we may love them 60%
and 'perceptibly' touch them 'psychically'.
When people are not in tune with us, we may love them 40%,
and slip away from their perception.

2 major incantation language features

Great scriptures are in 'incantation languages', the words of which,-
1 when uttered, create corresponding images in the ether, and
2 have multiple meanings.
We can ascertain the meaning appropriate to the context,
and then, these scriptures begin to make 'cogent' sense.

For fact and wondering there are no opposites

For most things, there is an opposite, in common parlance.
For example, for 'good', there is the opposite of 'bad'...
For 'truth', there is the opposite of 'lie'...And, so on..

But, in common parlance, there is no opposite for the noun, 'fact'.
Similarly, in common parlance, there is none for the verb, 'wondering'.
Incidentally, the query from our 'wondering' is 'Can this be a fact?'
connects the noun 'fact' and the verb 'wondering'.

Sunday, January 13, 2008

We habitually act upon what the society tells us from our birth.
If we inwardly inquire, 'Can this be a fact?',
then we begin perceiving the fact underlying our social conditioning.
If we can act instantly on the fact perceived,
then we can be said to have 'Individual Volition'.

We can 'wonder-fully' inquire into everything as, 'Can this be a fact ?'

We can draw back from the 'pairs of opposites', like, good and bad, etc.
Then, we enter into the 'total energy', dividing itself into these pairs.
When we have this total energy, we begin to 'wonder'.
That is, we neither 'accept' nor 'reject' anything that we see.
We gently inquire with a query of wonder, 'Can this be a fact ?'

We may better penetrate into that which agitates us

When something in the world 'agitates' our minds,
we may better 'penetrate' into that thing.
Then, we may find the reason why
that something exists in the world.
Then, the agitation will cease.

We may mind our own business, unless others ask us to intervene in theirs

We may intervene in others' matters,
only when they specifically ask us to do so.
Otherwise, we may better mind our own business.

Instantly giving away our surplusses to those in need is Love

Sometimes, we may have something, 'not very necessary' for us.
And, someone may ask us to give them that very thing.
Then, we may give that thing 'instantly' to them, which is Love.

Acting thro' identity with what is our authority is courage

When we find 'something' as our 'authority', we must 'penetrate' into the same.
Then, we 'become one with that something' and then
we can 'act spontaneously from that knowledge-by-identity'.
Such a spontaneous action is courage and Love.

We are the bodiless Self in dreamless sleep

We abide in dreamless deep sleep without being aware of our body. We recollect after waking up, that we slept happily. After waking up, we see that our tiresomeness has vanished. So, there was cessation of misery and simultaneous rising of joy in dreamless sleep. If we inquire as to who experiences the 3 states of dream, dreamless sleep and wakefulness, we will enter into dreamless sleep with awareness.

We must inquire into the alternation of dream, deep sleep and wakeful states

Sleep, dream and wakefulness alternatingly overtake us each day.
We are helplessly overtaken by these 3 states.
We know too little about the dream state.
We know still less about the dreamless sleep state.
So, we must 'inquire' into the alternation of these 3 states.

Begging promotes 'all-round' happiness

When we 'beg' for something from others, we accept what they give. They give what is 'left-over' with them. They feel happy emptying themselves of these things. We feel happy receiving these things. Thus, begging promotes all-round happiness.

When we feel like giving-up things, we must embrace things a little

Our desire 'to give-up things' always exists,
in the shadow of our desire 'to embrace things'.
When we feel like 'giving-up' things,
we must 'embrace' things a little.
When we feel like 'embracing' things,
we must 'give-up' things a little.
Then, there will be 'total energy', that is Love.

Taking what is left-over by others, as the result of our work

When we work, we 'may' let others get,
what they want to get, from our work.
Then, we 'may' take 'what is left-over' by others.
This will make others happy and
we will also be becoming increasingly happier.
Everything will begin to happen automatically for us.

We must go around the obstacles on our path

We may face 'obstacles' on our path,
while proceeding with our work.
We must go past these obstacles,
just by going around them.
We must proceed along
'the lines of least resistance'.

No conflict between 'what is' and 'what should be' is Love

We see the 'what is'. We feel the 'what should be'.
This is conflict inside us. This divides our 'total energy'.
Just by observing this conflict happening inside us,
this division of awarness begins to cease.
And then, there can be 'Love', the undivided total energy.

World takes the opposite of what we say

If we tell people that we are intelligent, they will think that we are fools.
If we tell people that we are fools, they will think that we are intelligent.
The world's views of ours are contrary to what we hold out before it.

Let only the Path Willed by God for us be before us

We may pray to God that he must show only the Path that He has Willed for us. Then, we will constantly have one path willed by God before us. Thus, our minds will be very strong.

Love for the Self

We love ourselves for our sake. We love others also for our sake only. When we see and accept this fact, our minds begin to turn inward and inquire as to what our real Self is.

Speed and Strength

Analytical and circumspect thinking increases our thoughts and weakens our minds. When we increasingly surrender to and rely on God, our thinking reduces and our speed and strength increases with Grace.

Attempting to do everything for God

When we attempt to do everything for God, the division of our limited mental energies between holy and unholy deeds ceases. Therefore, we can apply more energy on our ordinary daily tasks and be happier.

Self-Inquiry, a Great Meditative Technique

Self-Inquiry involves only the 2 elements, i.e., 1 the meditator and
2 the attention of the meditator on the source of the meditator, the Supreme Self,
which never becomes an object of perception.

Practice of Self-Inquiry manifests the ever-present Energy of the Self from within,
and increasingly casts us in the image of the Divine.

God is Terrible

I feel God is Terrible. That says it all. His Energy is Limitless.
His Love is Terrible, i.e. it is not limited to our limited understanding of love.
His Wrath is Terrible, i.e. it is not limited to our limited understanding of anger.
His functioning exceeds all the pairs of opposites, i.e., good and bad, etc.

Happy Blogging in Jan 2008

I have long wanted to have my own we'b log', referred to in short as a 'blog'. But, strangely enough, I was 'led-on' to this blogger site only now.

How ? My orkut acquaintance Mamata referred to the webpage 'www.nonduality.com/shankar.htm' wherein the 'iam' yahoo-group owner Jerry of the USA has kept my translations of the Tamil Scriptures composed by Bhagawan Sri Ramana Maharshi. I had given this website reference in my orkut profile. She accessed this site and responded by inviting me to visit her webpage in her orkut profile.

I visited her web log in www.bloggers.com and at the end of it, noticed the facility for a visitor to create his/her own web log in the website.

It is a miracle indeed !!!

A prayer, a master act, a king idea
Can link man’s strength to a transcendent Force.
Then miracle is made the common rule...
